Shortcut: COM:AN

This is a place where users can communicate with administrators, or administrators with one another. You can report vandalism, problematic users, or anything else that needs an administrator's intervention. Do not report child pornography or other potentially illegal content here; e-mail legal-reports@wikimedia.org instead. If reporting threatened harm to self or others also email emergency@wikimedia.org.

Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.


Report disputes with users that require administrator assistance. Further steps are listed at resolve disputes.


Reports that do not suit the vandalism noticeboard may be reported here. Requests for page protection/unprotection could also be requested here.


Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

Remove categories from user page

Luca Love Photo's user page seems to have a few categories that don't seem like they should be there? Don't know what the guidelines are for this

Please remove CSS overrides from MediaWiki:Gadget-uploadWizardMobile.css

Hello, I would like to ask an interface admin to please remove the CSS overrides that make UW more responsive in MediaWiki:Gadget-uploadWizardMobile.css. Most of the things there have been implemented in UploadWizard, sometimes with some minor changes, but overall these overrides are no longer needed, and actually might cause bugs and malfunctions. @Sannita (WMF): Would you mind clarifying what you want? Do you want the gadget uploadWizardMobile removed from MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition? Alternatively, do you want something else, like MediaWiki:Gadget-uploadWizardMobile.css blanked, deleted, or edited? If that is the case you can specify the changes you would like to have done at MediaWiki talk:Gadget-uploadWizardMobile.css via {{Edit request}}, although if you mention what you want done here I'll see it. @RP88 Actually, we don't know and I would defer this decision to you. Whichever is less taxing and easier for you to do.

@RP88 If I understand correctly, there is now fix for upload wizard so the local gadget can be removed from the MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition and MediaWiki:Gadget-uploadWizardMobile, MediaWiki:Gadget-uploadWizardMobile.css can be deleted. redlinked categories

@Schwede66 They should have it as it is built into their tools. I will also add that this user has a history of doing this from looking at their discussion board. Wasting resources

Can someone look into, delete the uploads of and potential even block the user User:Jarrod stanley ? This user has been uploading multi gigabyte, 7 hour videos of blackness and noise. This is extremely wasteful and behavior like this risks that uploads of this size are going to be restricted for most Commons users. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 20:52, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fake descriptions

User:VPosypai contributed a number of artworks. User claimed that artworks are their own and are traditional drawings on paper, but those definitely are digital works, for example: File:Miran Marussig by VPosypai.jpg. Request for documents in Brahmi script wherever available.

Nagiri/Devanagiri script is much younger than Brahmi script. I would appreciate it if you could publish the older manuscripts if available in Bhramhi script as original.
