Anthropocene Magazine Wins Folio Award Recognizing Journalism and Design
November 6, 2019 — Anthropocene magazine has won the Eddie Award for best full issue in the non-profit/charity sector at the 2019 Folio Awards, one of the most prestigious awards in the U.S. publishing industry.
Anthropocene is the premier publication of Future Earth: a digital, print, and live magazine in which the world’s most creative writers, designers, scientists, and entrepreneurs explore how we can create a sustainable human age we actually want to live in.
Folio’s Eddie and Ozzie Awards have recognized excellence in uncompromising journalism and gorgeous design across all sectors of the publishing industry for more than 25 years. Award winners are chosen from thousands of nominations, and hundreds of finalists were determined by dozens of judges from across the industry, with about 400 winners in categories spanning B2B, consumer, association, and city/regional publishing.
The third issue of Anthropocene beat out many honorable mentions for this category, including: Cancer Today, MSK News, Preservation magazine, issues of Tides magazine, and The Rotarian.
Anthropocene magazine is also one of almost 200 participants in this year’s NewsMatch, a national matching-gift campaign to grow fundraising capacity in nonprofit newsrooms across the U.S., which runs from November 1 to December 31, 2019. During this period donations to Anthropocene go twice as far, as NewsMatch will match up to $20,000 in individual donations one-for-one. Become a member of Anthropocene magazine today and double your impact!
