We work with communities of practice, including indigenous and local communities, citizen scientists, modelers and scenario builders, resource managers, decision makers, complexity thinkers and practitioners in fields such as architecture, engineering, and law. The long term, human scale, place-based IHOPE approach folds human activity into the global system. Without this integrated perspective, the understanding of sustainability, resilience, and vulnerability is impoverished.

Our website offers news of interest to the IHOPE community (resources, contacts) and, along with other activities (e.g., workshops, conferences), presents idea-filled examples of partnerships that demonstrate how the past can build future durability into communities and regions.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Visit the IHOPE website” shape=”square” color=”greenNetworks” size=”lg” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fihopenet.org%2F|target:_blank” css=”.vc_custom_1672109930121{margin-top: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Email[/vc_column_text][vc_separator border_width=”8″ css=”.vc_custom_1553032484587{margin-top: 0px !important;}”]
Executive Director, International Project Office

Chair, Scientific Steering Committee

[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”21159″ onclick=”custom_link” custom_links_target=”_blank” custom_links=”#E-8_aHR0cHMlM0ElMkYlMkZ0d2l0dGVyLmNvbSUyRklIT1BFX3VwZGF0ZXM=”][vc_column_text]Book: https://www.cambridge.org/core/books/issues-and-concepts-in-historical-ecology/755AD9C8B56C2C45AA14FE4361934D37

Project: https://www.sesync.org/project/ventures/if-the-past-teaches-what-does-the-future-learn

Key Contacts
