Distriktkarten Osttimor[edit]

Ja, ich hatte es schon mal in der Kartenwerkstatt geschrieben und Chumwa wollte versuchen, neue Vorlagen zu erstellen. Auf allen administrativen Ebenen wurden Grenzen verschoben. Teilweise haben die Sucos komplett andere Territorien. Man erkennt am besten, dass eine Timorkarte aktuell ist, wenn bei der Gemeinde Lautém ein Bommel an der Westgrenze hängt. Hier zum Beispiel gäbe es die neuen Grenzen der Gemeinden (ehemals Distrikte). Die Grenzen der Sucos finden sich auf Karten der einzelnen Verwaltungsämter (ehemals Subdistrikte) auf der Seite des Ministeriums für Staatsadministration unter den Menüpunkten Serviços->Administracao Municipal->Municipio de... ->Name des Verwaltungsamtes. Chumwa meinte, es sei zwar knifflig, aber man könne die Karten dort so zurechtschieben, dass sie in die Projektionen der derzeitigen Blanko-Karten passen, was das Aktualisieren erleichtern würde. Stimmt, die Sonderverwaltungsregion taucht beim Ministerium nicht auf. Letzte Woche bin ich endlich auf eine einfache Karte Oecusses beim Statistischen Amt gestoßen. Grob geprüft scheinen die Grenzen der Verwaltungsämter dort erhalten blieben zu sein, die der Sucos leider nicht. --JPF (talk) 05:17, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Timor Lest election result[edit]

Parties in parliament 2018

Hello. Can I ask what is the source of your circular diagram showing the number of seats won by parties in the Timor Lest election of this year? Hello @Aréat: ! You can find here an overview, who was elected into parliament (beside further informations). The parties and coalitions have set up lists of candidates, the order there is deciding, who will enter into parliament. If someone is leaving parliament, the next on the list enters into parliament. Two parliamentarians of AMP has left their seat for their followers and members of theit parties entered into parliament. FDD has collapsed on 17 June. AMP is still existing, but all three member parties are decided to set up their own bench. Ost-Timor Fotos[edit]

Hallo Patrick. Wie Sie wissen, habe ich angefangen, meine Fotos von Ost-Timor hochzuladen. Obwohl ich nur 5 Tage dort war, konnte ich einige davon machen. Die meisten sind eher Dinge als Menschen, dh Fahrzeuge, Landschaften, Gebäude usw. Ich werde auch einige neue en.wiki Artikel für den asiatischen Monat (und später) erstellen. Im Moment ist die en.wiki-Berichterstattung von Ost-Timor wirklich nicht gut genug und braucht viel Arbeit. If you understand Indonesian, you will see that the author's description mentions "Motaain, NTT", and to my modest knowledge, NTT or Nusa Tenggara Timur is in Indonesia, not in Timor Leste. I want you to ask you to respect, that I do not want to say, where I have been, when I took this photo. See en:Wikipedia:Anonymity. Using your orginal maps to edit Open Street Map[edit]

I have been adding substantially to the OSM in Timor Leste (Aileu and Oecusse municipalities so far) in the last few months (my user name there is the same:matthewsheffield) but have just noticed that your maps would be useful for adding village and town names that don't seem to have added on previous imports of data. Hello Matthewsheffield! You can use all my informatons, but you do not need to use the maps. All known settlements of Timor-Leste can be found in the lists of settlements in Timorese municipalities. Wikipedia Timor-Leste 2020[edit]

Hallo Patrick.

Ich habe Ihren Zuschussantrag für Ihr Osttimor-Projekt gesehen. Ich werde wahrscheinlich an der Bangkok Wikimania teilnehmen und bin daran interessiert, auch am Osttimor-Projekt teilzunehmen. Ich lebe in Australien und konnte auf dem Rückweg von Bangkok über Dili einfach umfahren. Wie Sie wissen, besuchte ich Osttimor im Jahr 2018 und habe seitdem Fotos hochgeladen und Artikel für en.wiki erstellt. (In diesem Jahr habe ich nur vier Artikel für Wikipedia Asian Month 2019 erstellt, aber das lag daran, dass ich stattdessen viele Fotos (hauptsächlich aus dem Heiligen Land) hochgeladen habe. Weitere Artikel folgen in Kürze.)

Gibt es eine Chance, dass ich in das Osttimor-Projekt involviert werde? Ich kann nicht 21 Tage dafür aufwenden, aber ich könnte auf jeden Fall ein paar Tage oder so dort verbringen (und hoffentlich noch ein paar Fotos machen, darunter ein besseres Foto von Ágio Pereira). Ich kann Ihnen auch eine Facebook-Freundschaftsanfrage senden (Sie kennen mich bereits als Fotograf des Heineken-Fotos).

Lawine mit einzelnen Löschanträgen[edit]

Hallo J. Patrick Fischer, Du hast gerade User talk:Multichill geflutet mit mehr als 30 einzelnen Löschanträgen – offenbar allesamt mit kurzen out of scope-Begründungen. In dieser Form ist dies nicht erwünscht und disruptiv. Löschanträge in diesem Volumen, die thematisch eng zusammengehören, sind zu bündeln. Einzelheiten hierzu finden sich unter COM:MASSDEL. Als Werkzeug empfiehlt sich Help:VisualFileChange.js. Das Problem ist hier, dass es nicht zumutbar ist, über 30 Mal die gleiche Diskussion zu führen, inwiefern Bilder der amerikanischen Streitkräfte über Hilfsaktionen vor Ort im Projektrahmen liegen oder nicht. Es wäre besser, diese Diskussion nur ein einziges Mal zu führen bzw. einfach auch mal zu sehen, ob es frühere Diskussionen dazu gibt. Für generelle Diskussionen empfiehlt sich COM:VP. Hello Taivo! Thank you for unblocking. To explain the situation: The image is "not expresing hatred of or vilify others", it is seen as protest against the situation, which represented to me last year in Commons, when I got no administrative support, when I was flooded with hundreds of DR. From a democratic point of view, I see it as questionable to make a restriction here, which is why I would like to ask you to reconsider this.
The DRs were the first of several that I have made in 16 years of work. I have already been pointed out my mistakes in the procedure by AFBorchert and I have also signalled that I will not repeat this mistake. This does not change my opinion of the images concerned. I find it very strange that my opinion (Out of Scope) was removed from the deletion discussions and that the DR was simply closed after only two days. Banning future DR on all US Army images is also surprising. For me, the DR are not directed against the source of the images (there are far more in the categories I observe), but against the sense I do not see in the images, which have also been unused for many years. This is a view that can be discussed objectively, but that did not take place in the deletion discussion. I do not intend to ask DR about these pictures again. But I am very surprised that discussions about all US Army images are generally forbidden. Again, I don't see this in the spirit of the project or democratic principles. The first point is an old question, what is more important: free speech or freedom not to be insulted. Generally is accepted, that free speech does not mean freedom to insult others. Commons users must be nice towards other people, that's why I request to remove the image from your userpage. The fact that you do not want to insult somebody specifically is not so important.
The second point (not to nominate photos created by US Army for deletion) is really strange, but in my opinion necessary. I have nominated US Army photos for deletion in the past and I was surprised to see, that even quite bad quality photos got keep votes – and you see the same as well. I looked some of your nominations and now the files are used in Wikidata and other projects, look yourself. They are all in scope. Now I will close some your DR-s. Tut mir leid, das war alles sehr spontan und ich wusste noch nicht mal genau, was mich erwartet. Dass so ein Hammer rauskommt, war mehr als ich zu träumen wagte. Baucau[edit]

Hallo! Thanks for reverting my change on Category:Baucau (city). I came to take a look at this category and others related when categorizing files in Category:Files from wilford peloquin Flickr stream (East Timor, 1971). I was quite confused by 3 things named Baucau (municipality, administrative post and city). I hope I left the categories less confusing now with the creation of Category:Baucau, Category:Administrative posts of Baucau (Municipality) and Category:Sucos of Baucau Administrative Post. Please make any changes that may be needed. One question for you for which I couldn't find an answer. Is Category:Baucau (city) in a suco, and if yes which one? Or is the city its own suco? Thanks. Hello Cryptic! City of Baucau is ranging over several sucos in Baucau administrative post, which makes it necessary to double categorize some images. On the other hand, the sucos with parts of Baucau city are not completely urban. They are having rural areas, with several other settlements. Timorese geography is complicated. Settlements in East Timor are sometimes in one suco, sometimes ranging over several sucos and sometimes even over several posto administrativos.
BTW: Baucau airport is outside the city. ;-) Generally, you can have a look on German Wikipedia to check, although I am still updating them after administration changes in 2015. So far, Ainaro, Atauro, Aileu and Dili are completely updated. In the moment I am working on Liquica, beside updating census data of 2022 and changes after election in May 2023.
Are you going on working on Baucau categories? There are still some sucos of Baucau not in the correct category.

Oh my, this is complex :) I wasn't planning on doing too much work on Baucau. I have a few thousand pictures from wilford peloquin to categorize and correct metadata. I run a bot and was able to script moving sucos to Baucau municipality. If you're interested I could do this for all municipalities in East Timor. Let me know. How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category[edit]

When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Portuguese colonial architecture in Dili (municipality).
