Paul’s background is in environmental economics and statistical analysis. Paul currently works at the University of York's Department for Environment and Geography since September 2021. Paul works as an interdisciplinary researcher working on all aspects of flood risk management, with a focus on individual level actions and impacts using survey data, insurance, and nature based solutions as part of wider climate change adaptation efforts. Before joining the University of York, he completed his PhD on the use of insurance to boost flood resilience at the Institute for Environmental Studies, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Potsdam.
