Call for Participants: TERRA School 2023
Applications are now being accepted for participation in the TERRA (Transdisciplinarity for Early Career Researchers in Asia) School 2023. TERRA School is a short-term intensive course on transdisciplinary research (TD) hosted by the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) and Future Earth Japan Hub. TERRA School provides an introduction to the principles, tools, methodologies and practice of transdisciplinary research.
TERRA School will be held 13 – 17 November in Kyoto, Japan.
This year we are creating spaces for ideation and seeds for project development and space for developing collaboration with diverse participants. Various opportunities for fellowships, research collaborations and transdisciplinary project engagement are available for TERRA School alumni. This will be a great learning opportunity for early career researchers and their participation will also allow them to be part of the network of Future Earth and RIHN.
The course is free with a limited number of travel grants for participants from Asia being offered. Slots will be available for candidates (from anywhere in the world) who are willing to cover their own travel cost to Japan (accommodation costs will be free).
Eligible candidates:
- Received PhD within the last 10 years or involved in sustainability-related projects for a minimum of 5 years and maximum of 10 years
- Interested or engaged in the interface of sustainability research and practice
- Able to participate using the English language
Selection process:
Interested applicants should be nominated or endorsed by members of RIHN or Future Earth (e.g. Global Research Networks, National/regional Committees, and Future Earth Global Secretariat Hubs). The course is free but will have limited slots and not all the nominated candidates will be automatically accepted.
- Nominators send in the Nomination Form by 29 August 2023.
- Applicants send in the Application Form by 6pm Japan time on 3 September 2023.
- Successful candidates will be notified before mid-September 2023.
