Future Earth is seeking an IT and Digital Content Associate to support our rapidly growing scope of work to build the field of sustainability science and innovation worldwide. This is a general technologist position that will administer Future Earth’s IT assets and support the creation of its digital communications products.
The work of Future Earth is coordinated by a globally distributed Secretariat with Global Hubs in eight locations around the world. The IT and Digital Content Associate not only supports the day-to-day global operations of the Secretariat, but is also instrumental in handling the technical aspects of projects led by the US hub. The position reports to the IT Lead, and will support users at all levels of the organization. This person will work closely with the global communications team on various projects and events.

This is a full time position based in Colorado, USA. Applicants must be eligible to work in the USA and may work remotely from within Colorado.
Task description:
The IT & Digital Content Associate will:
- Administer, configure, and maintain IT systems, platforms, and websites (25%): Future Earth relies on a number of tools/systems such as Google Workspace, WordPress, event management platforms, and payment processing solutions. The IT and Digital Content Associate will play a key role in managing these systems, ensuring that they are up-to-date, running smoothly, and serve the Secretariat and the wider Future Earth community as intended.
- Provide training, support, and documentation (25%): Support the Future Earth staff and community members in using organizational tools by providing training and guidance, including tutorials. The role will also support the production and editing of digital content such as social media cards, videos and animation, graphics, and reports (Adobe Creative).
- Support event management and production (25%): The annual SRI Congress series is one of the main programs led by the US Global Hub and will be organized next year as a hybrid event, with a critical virtual component. The position will also produce other virtual Future Earth events, such as webinars or meetings of the Future Earth Assembly.
- Implement and maintain IT governance, data protection and security policies (25%): With the expansion of the Future Earth Secretariat, new data protection and security guidelines are being implemented. The IT & Digital Content Associate will provide critical technical support for this implementation to ensure compliance and assist new Global Secretariat Hubs to integrate these into their workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience in an IT administration and/or digital content role
- Organized, detail-oriented and deadline-driven
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, while at the same collaborate in a fast-paced team environment
- Flexibility to occasionally work non-regular hours to accommodate international timezones
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
- Integrity, creativity, flexibility and an open mind
Preferred Qualifications
- Production and post production experience as host, producer, and editor for broadcast media (videos, webinars, talks, podcasts)
- Graphic design skills a plus (reports, brochures, flyers)
- Adobe Creative Suite experience with emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects, and InDesign

Term and Compensation:
This position begins immediately, and has been established as a limited term, full time appointment through the Future Earth NGO, a Colorado non-profit organization. The expected salary for the IT and Digital Content Associate is $50,000 – $60,000 annually. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
