The Compass project aims to provide a comprehensive global water assessment in near real time, to facilitate and guide world water policies and decisions with the best science.
Compass is being designed as a state-of-the-art digital toolbox that detects, evaluates and reports on existing and emerging water resource challenges, from today through 2030. It will merge the latest satellite data with model outputs, in-situ observations, and socio-economic information and citizen-data resources to produce continuously updated monthly assessments. This data can then be used for better infrastructure planning, monitoring progress towards SDG implementation, and identifying business opportunities and risks in water related sectors.
